Inauguration andThe convergence of screens |
The LAB is a discovery and experimentation space for the e.magiciens. It is designed to showcase the state of the art by confronting artists, industrialists, and research laboratories. The theme for 2009, the convergence of screens, will explore, in a prospective manner, the place of digital imagery in our world through the study of new broadcasting mediums:
- Scenographic Imaging, or filling the screen
- Interface Screen
- Mobile Screens
Exhibition
Floating Point v2 / Mâa
The ground is made up of thousands of dots, which become fish / birds depending on the visitor’s shadows. If the shadows remain simple, the creation that emerges is of a troubling complexity. Blurring the line between that which is living and that which is virtual, Mâa explores, builds and gardens a parcel of the digital universe. For many years now, its facilities have become more and more reactional, massive and interactive.
Bump it / Bertrand Planes
Bump it offers a technical process which simulates relief by applying shadows to a surface: the aesthetics and history of a set of furniture evolve right before our eyes through an optical illusion. Bertrand Planes changes normal objects and practices in order to demonstrate new functions. His work often results in the combination of two different universes that he works to connect.

Corpu s A / ITR
The Corpus project is an interactive mechanism that, in order to discuss the body, organizes a body of knowledge: a set of significant scenographic elements. These elements make up, when brought together, a presence felt and experienced by the spectator. Image Temps Réel (ITR) is a research group from the Ensadlab. It is made up of research students and teachers that form a multi-disciplinary team: interactive and artistic programming, sound design, graphic design, and scenography.
Memory-life / Orange Vallée
Memory-life, the memory mixer. On the path of discovering new exploration and filing interfaces in order to develop an effective storage of personal media. Founded a year ago, Orange Vallée is organized around management projects led by junior or senior managers. They have the liberty of creating and using Orange’s powerful products.
CT -Hand, Sensor Girl, Flying Girl
Formes de la mobilité (Fdm ) Formes de la mobilité creates applications for mobile telephones and mp3 players with regards to the specific interactions that involve their manipulation, orientation and localization. Formes de la mobilité (Fdm) is one of Ensadlab’s research groups. It carries out experiments and creations for local media and social networks...
ToucH2O / Sassexperience
“ToucH2O” is an interactive experience where the multimedia content is literally submerged under water. An original creation by Jimmy Hertz. Sassexperience promotes and develops open technologies that stem from the multitouch, by associating them to projects that involve artists, designers and programmers.
Mobidium / Blue Yeti
Interactive mechanism from a distance “Earthenware Houses” Exhibition “My earth”, Cité des sciences et de l’industrie Creation Mobidium / Blue Yeti ANR Virage Project Virage is a research platform project that aims at developing new writing and management interfaces for artistic creation and cultural industries. This platform includes businesses (JazzMutant, Blue Yeti, RSF), academic laboratories (LIMSI-CNRS Paris Sud, MSH Paris Nord-CICM, LaBRI Bordeaux) and artists (GMEA, the Albi-Tarn centre national de création musicale and didascalie.net).

Augmented Reality /VIDA Limsi
RAM (Mobile Augmented Reality) was developed for Futur en Seine. Installed on a barge are four powerful projectors that remodel the city with colossal images that are generated in real time. Augmented organ uses new real time processing technologies in order to modify the relation of a large organ with its visual and acoustic environment. VIDA, Virtuality, Interactivity, Design & Art is a scientific research theme at the LIMSI-CNRS. Its purpose is to facilitate and promote Art/Science research by gathering scientists, industrialists, artists and designers for virtual or increased reality projects, whether they be graphic or audio in nature.

GMEA ANR Virage project, “The Screen as a Responsive Creation Interface”
Financed by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche, Virage is research platform dedicated to the study and development of new management and writing interfaces for artistic creation and cultural industries. The Virage sequencer, the platform’s main achievement, is a prototype software that makes it possible to manage the timeframe that corresponds to the requirements of a live show and cultural industries.
